Why I built this

Why preparedness

Life rarely waits for you to get organized.

Preparedness isn't just for emergencies or later years. It's knowing where things live, who can help, and what's due next. That holds whether you're starting out, raising kids, caring for a parent, or putting your own house in order.

  • Scattered everywhere Med lists on the fridge. Leases in email. Insurance in a drawer. Important papers in someone else's memory.
  • Tools that cover a slice Your spreadsheet knows the assets. Your calendar knows the appointments. Neither has the full picture.
  • Help that can't reach you When a partner, sibling, or adult child needs to step in, the details aren't where they can get to them.
  • Deadlines that sneak up Renewals, expiries, and appointments land as stray emails and texts. Easy to miss until they're overdue.

What Paratum Life does

Three habits that keep you ready.

Light enough for normal weeks. Solid enough when things get heavy.

For every season

Preparedness looks different at every age.

Same vault. Different chapter. You don't start over when life changes.

Starting out

Lease, insurance card, emergency contacts, the accounts that run a young adult life. Handy when something goes sideways.

Raising a household

School contacts, medical notes, bills, renewals, and the documents that protect people who depend on you.

Caring for someone

Meds, doctors, appointments, care preferences. Shared only with family who should help.

Getting your house in order

Where originals live. What renews when. Handover notes so the next generation isn't left guessing.

Why I built this

For the week you're living, not the binder on the shelf.

I built Paratum Life while caring for my father and working full time. I didn't need another list of what a family should eventually file. I needed something that worked on a normal Tuesday and on a bad one.

I looked hard. I bought several products that were honestly good. Filing systems showed me what documents a family should have. They didn't help day to day. I wanted to photograph a doctor's note at the visit, save it in the app, and get pinged to put the paper in the safe when I walked in the door. I couldn't find one tool that held medical stuff, household know-how, and long-range planning together, with the right family members able to open each part.

While fixing gaps for my father's care, I kept hitting the same wall at home. Only I knew where the water lines run. Where the shutoffs are. What the well needs every month. Same story for the lease, insurance, and accounts that keep a young house running. Paratum is what I wanted: for caregivers, families, and anyone who'd rather sort things out now than leave someone else to hunt.

Built differently

What makes it different.

  • Vaults with careful permissions

Share medical, assets, contacts, or documents at vault, household, or person level. View or edit. Owners and admins run the family; members see only what they're granted.

  • Live care beside long-term readiness

Doctors, meds with schedules, appointments, and care notes live next to assets and estate details. Day-to-day care and long-range planning share one workspace.

  • A guided path to get organized

Walk through legal, identity, medical, financial, insurance, property, bills, digital life, people, and final wishes. Each step opens the real form, prefilled, so what you capture lands in the right tab.

For young adults getting organized, families in the thick of it, caregivers, and elders who want things spelled out.
