This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Paratum Life application and website (the "Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.

Paratum Life is built to hold personal, medical, financial, and legal information about you and the people in your care. We treat all of it as sensitive. This policy explains how we handle it, but you also control much of what happens to it through the sharing and permission features described in our Terms — see Section 6 below.

Uploaded document files are held in private object storage that requires authentication to read. Files are never served from a public link: each download is streamed to you through the Service only after your permission to that document has been checked, and download responses are marked not to be stored in shared caches.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The central feature of Paratum Life is letting you share information with family members and caregivers. When you invite someone to a vault or grant them access at the vault, household, or individual level, you are directing us to make that information available to them. People you authorize can view — and, at the "edit" level, change or delete — information within their granted scope, and can export or print it. You are responsible for your sharing decisions and for removing access when it should end. See the Terms of Service for the full picture.
If you turn on a calendar subscription in Settings, or download an appointment as a calendar file, you are directing us to make upcoming titles, dates, and locations available at that link or in that file. Anyone who has the subscribe link — including the calendar app you paste it into — can read those items. Rotating or turning off the link invalidates the old URL. We do not send this data to Google, Apple, or Microsoft ourselves.

We use the following providers to run the Service. We will keep this list current as providers change.
We keep your account information and Your Content for as long as your account is active, and as needed to provide the Service. When Your Content is deleted, we remove it from active systems immediately, and any residual copies in short-term database restore history and storage caches clear within seven days. We do not maintain separate long-term backups of deleted content. We may retain information where we must do so to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Because vaults are shared, deleting your own account does not necessarily delete records that other members still have rights to.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to limit use of sensitive personal information. Much of what you enter is about other people. As explained in our Terms, you are responsible for having the right to provide it and for honoring those individuals' requests about their own information. If someone contacts us about information another user has stored about them, we may direct them to the user (the vault owner or administrator) who controls it, and will act as applicable law requires.
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children as account holders. A responsible adult may choose to record information about a minor in their care; that adult is responsible for having the authority to do so.
The Service is operated from the United States and information is processed there. The Service is intended for users in the United States.
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date shows the current version.
